Georgie Bentley is an analogue filmmaker, specialising in directing and writing eccentric short animated film. Her final film, ‘Trombone & Cake’, is an experimental stop-motion piece, about a little fly girls’ nihilistic relationship with God the housecat, drawing heavy links to ‘The theatre of the Absurd’. ‘Trombone and Cake’ was postponed due to Covid-19, but she is working towards completing it at a later date. Georgie is also an illustrator, making use of her artist sketchbooks with collage, paint and crayons to create character led and often political imagery. In the future, Georgie plans to further develop her skills as an artist and writer, working with fellow animator Christopher Childs to create a short series for Aardmans ‘Aardboiled’.
